The Werewolf Transformation

Sheldon (Jim Parsons) is horrified to learn that his longtime barber is sick in the hospital. The scientist's concern isn't over the man's ailing health but the uncertainty of who will cut his hair. With his world beginning to unravel he even goes so far to as to show up in the comotose man's hospital room.

The longer Sheldon goes without a haircut the more concerned he becomes as he realizes his effort to bring order to the universe by meticulous planning has all been for naught. When it turns out the world at large isn't effected by small hiccups to his personal schedule the scientist chooses to embrace chaos - including playing the bongo drums at 3 a.m.

The episode's B-story involves Howard (Simon Helberg) struggles through his first days of astronaut training. Although we don't actually see any of his tests, there's humor to be had in his retelling of events to Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) over Skype.

"The Werewolf Transformation" also includes a couple of nice moments. We get a glimpse at Sheldon and Amy's (Mayim Bialik) "Girlfriend/Boyfriend Sing-A-Long Night" including Amy performing Bon Jovi's "Wanted Dead Or Alive" on her harp. Penny (Kaley Cuoco) beats Leonard (Johnny Galecki) in her first game of chess, much to her boyfriend's consternation.
