Fairly Legal - Shattered

Kate (Sarah Shahi) finds herself involved in a mediation concerning the possible negilgence of a nurse. The lawyer (Katie Walder) suing the nurse just happens to be an ex-girlfriend of Ben's (Ryan Johnson). The nurse in question is a Haitian who will be deported if she looses her job and the only witness who could clear her is an eco-terrorist (Betsy Brandt) who has been on the run for 20 years and has no intention of blowing her cover now.

In order to save the nurse Kate must convince the woman , who now has a life, husband and two young children to turn herself in as well as convince Justin (Michael Trucco) to cut her a fair deal. She even gets Ben to agree to represent the fugitive, and just when it looks like everything will work out the entire deal falls apart at the last minute when Ben's ex tips off an angry District Attorney (Esai Morales) at the last minute.

In the episode's B-story Lauren (Virginia Williams) waits all day for an eccentric billionaire who wants to purchase an airline. Kate also comes clean with Ben about her night with Justin and is shocked to learn from Leo (Baron Vaughn) how hurt Ben was by the news she spent the night with her ex-husband instead of meeting him for their scheduled date. How they move forward from here, and the fall-out of Justin doing not one but two end-arounds of D.A. Davidson, should be interesting.
