The Big Bang Theory - The Monster Isolation

After his latest dating disaster in which Lucy (), the cute girl he met in the comic book store, never comes back from the bathroom and ditches him on their date, Raj (Kunal Nayyar) stops answering his phone, stops going to work, and locks himself in his apartment. Despite Leonard (Johnny Galecki), Howard (Simon Helberg), and Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) showing up to offer their concern, and Lucy leaving her number for Raj at the comic book store, the astrophysicist vows never again to leave his apartment.

For his latest episode of "Fun with Flags" Sheldon (Jim Parsons) invites Penny (Kaley Cuoco) to appear and is sufficiently impressed by her acting ability and her helpful suggestions to improve his broadcast (even if he takes some of them a little too literally). Taking advise from Amy (Mayim Bialik) about properly thanking Penny for her help a disgruntled Sheldon and his girlfriend find themselves invited along with Leonard to a performance of A Streetcar Named Desire put on by Penny's acting class.

A short-tempered Amy runs into some trouble in the final days of her nicotine study when she begins throwing the monkey's feces back at them, but her evening is vastly improved as Amy, along with Sheldon and Leonard, is surprised by how far Penny has come as an actress (since the show's running gag has always been that she's actually a better waitress, and not a very good one at that). And when Lucy shows up to explain to Raj about her own insecurities and shyness around people she doesn't know, the scientist is able to convince her to give him a second chance by arguing how pathetic and mentally damaged he is as well.
