Person of Interest - Trojan Horse

After another unusual game of chess with Elias (Enrico Colantoni), Finch (Michael Emerson) goes undercover at a tech company to try and discover if the latest number, one of the company's executives (Tracie Thoms) who has begun digging into the suspicious death of one of her co-workers, is working for the company's best interest or trying to destroy it. As Finch works on his own Reese (Jim Caviezel) seeks out Shaw (Sarah Shahi) who has been watching over her former partner's parents whose son's name the government smeared after they had him killed.

Unable to convince Shaw to accept his help, Reese returns just as one of their number's co-workers (Andrew Rothenberg) and her assistant (Dan Bittner) frame her for the industrial espionage which she had uncovered was being done by the recent murder victim (who it turns out was a Chinese spy and whose body has mysteriously disappeared from the morgue). After Reese saves their person of interest from being gunned down in the streets, Finch comes up with a plan to break back into the tech firm and steal the proof they need to prove her innocence and in doing so discover why the Chinese are so interested in the company and why its defense contracts are worth killing for.

Following the death of Detective Szymanski (Michael McGlone), Carter (Taraji P. Henson) moves forward in her investigation of Detective Beecher (Sterling K. Brown) to find out if the man she's been dating is dirty enough to frame another cop and then help HR get him killed. After being rattled by Fusco's (Kevin Chapman) allegations, and believing the tip on Szymanski was genuine, Beecher asks the man who gave it to him - his godfather (Clarke Peters) who just so happens to be the secret head of HR. Looking for further answers Beecher visits Elias in prison but doesn't like the answers he finds there that get him immediately, and permanently, silenced by HR.

Harold also gets a surprise visit from Shaw who traces his number to the library. Not willing to take him up on his offer, she does however find a new "hobby" when she discovers they share a common enemy - Root (Amy Acker). (A storyline involving both Acker and Shahi? I'm looking forward to see how this plays out!) Although Carter suffers a personal loss, Reese and Finch are able to save their latest number and in doing so Finch begins uncovering the barest traces of the organization Stanton (Annie Parisse) worked for who created the virus she used to try and infect The Machine.
