Rookie Blue - Exit Strategy

While Andy (Missy Peregrym) fumes over what she perceives as Oliver's (Matt Gordon) betrayal, Epstein (Gregory Smith) and Diaz (Travis Milne) attempt to put Diaz's drug addiction and lies behind them while investigating a suspicious home invasion and robbery. However, by the end of the episode the two partners will have to not only face a life-threatening situation but also the truth which Epstein is no longer willing to keep hidden.

Despite attending an AA meeting and suggesting that everything is fine, Epstein catches text messages between Diaz and his dealer fracturing what was left of the trust between them. While discovering the motive for the home invasion, the pair become trapped in the house with a gunshot victim and gas leak that almost kills all three of them. Refusing to clue Chloe (Priscilla Faia) in on why he's been so distant, the one solid relationship in Epstein's life may be crumbling as well.

In an episode where charaters seem to catch bad decisions like the flu, the other storyline of the week is Oliver (Matt Gordon) at first caving to Inspector Jarvis' (Oliver Becker) demands and then going out on a limb to back a gambling raid led by Steve Peck (Adam MacDonald) which is ruined when Traci (Enuka Okuma) warns one of the gamblers, her ex-husband Dex (Jefferson Brown), about the bust. The ramifications of the failed operation aren't likely to help out Traci's child custody case or her relationship with Peck who takes full responsibility for the bust's failure realizing the truth could cost Traci her badge.
