Stalker - The Haunting

Set during Halloween, Beth (Maggie Q) and Jack (Dylan McDermott) investigate the stalking and terrorizing of a college freshman (Lyndon Smith). At first most of the evidence points to her ex-boyfriend and frat boy friends, but looking a little deeper into the history of the supposedly haunted house the girl and her roommate (Meagan Tandy) recently moved into offers other motives as well.

For a prime-time show that isn't squeamish about its subject matter, the opening scene of "The Haunting" is one of Stalker's most disturbing yet as the girl is toyed with than attacked by a man in a clown suit just before closing in a near-empty costume shop. The idea of the house being haunted is never really sold that well, but the twist involving who is responsible for attacking the young woman (but oddly not her roommate which is never explained) works well-enough to keep up the tension.

"The Haunting" continues the rocky relationship between Jack and his ex (Elisabeth Röhm) which is close to blowing up in his face, Jack's regrets for sleeping with Janice (Mariana Klaveno), and Whitley's (Erik Stocklin) discovery of a skeleton in Beth's closet which he uses to rattle the woman and continue his obsession. From the tease of next week's episode at least one of these storylines will come to a head as Jack will come clean (at least a little) about his past.
