Pretty Little Liars - Fresh Meat

With Alison (Sasha Pieterse) in prison, Hanna (Ashley Benson) taking time out for a college visit, and Paige (Lindsey Shaw) in San Fransisco, life goes on for the Liars. As Aria (Lucy Hale) freaks out about her college rejection letters, Emily (Shay Mitchell) bites off more than she can handle by stepping in to cater Ezra's (Ian Harding) party after his caterer cancels, and Officer Toby (Keegan Allen) makes a discovery linked to Mona's (Janel Parrish) murder that will cause Spencer (Troian Bellisario) and Caleb (Tyler Blackburn), fearing yet another A set-up, to make a reckless decision.

Fear and desperation walk all of the Liars into danger as impulsive Hanna leaves college to investigate Alison's relationship with Halbrook leading to some surprising discoveries. Spencer's choice to destroy Mona's murder weapon rather than allow the police to find it and possibly tie it back to one of the girls not only creates tension with her boyfriend but puts both Spencer and Caleb on the hook for the crime of destroying evidence tied to a murder investigation. Fueled by a misguided attempt to win back her girlfriend, Emily's choice to try and become Martha Stewart overnight leads only to frustration and Aria's attempt to lie her way into college works but not exactly in the way she planned as her admission may be contingent on her hiding her continued romantic relationship with Ezra (possibly for the next four years).

The method by which Spencer and Caleb destroy the knife is inventive but, knowing the pattern of the show, their poor decision making is likely to bite both of them in the ass. And from the little gift left for her at Ezra's, Aria is made all too aware how much A knows about her recent lies. As for Hanna, she may not learn anything about Ali or Holbrook but the discovery she makes in her own home is likely to lead to some serious drama in the very near future. Of all the out-of-control behavior, only Emily's ends without lasting consequences (other than being forced to accept the end of a relationship she still feels the need to fight for).
