The joy of Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Amy (Mayim Bialik) deciding to share a pet turtle is lessened when Dr. Cooper casually mentions he's applied for the upcoming Mars mission without first informing his girlfriend. The episode includes Sheldon's Mars video audition and a rather sweet make-up moment between Cooper and his girlfriend. Meanwhile, in an attempt to jump start their sex life, Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Penny (Kaley Cuoco) do a little full-body naked sex painting that doesn't turn out as planned.
In the other storyline Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) and Howard (Simon Helberg) take a perverse glee in Raj (Kunal Nayyar) pain when he accidentally breaks a drawer in Emily's (Laura Spencer) bedroom while snooping through his girlfriend's apartment. Although I'm less than thrilled with the show's continued portrayal of Howard as a lazy selfish prick, the storyline does underline what a smart choice Spencer was for the role of Emily whose off-putting humor continues to both entice and frighten Raj.
