Scorpion - Sun of a Gun

Jeff Fahey shows up as Sylvester's estranged father (Ari Stidham) to enlist Scorpion to track down a rumored, but never seen, Axis weapon developed during WWII. The "Sun Gun" would use a satellite to turn the sun's rays into a weapon of concentrated white-hot light. Sly's dad has been hunting for the weapon his entire career and now believes it has been found and is finally being put into play by an African dictator (Hakeem Kae-Kazim) with dangerous plans for the rest of the world.

The mission itself presents the usual twist and turns as Walter (Elyes Gabel) and his team will have to continue to think on their feet after their initial plan falls through. Success even relies on Sylvester and his father working together and Walter and Paige (Katharine McPhee) performing an impromptu duet. Toby (Eddie Kaye Thomas) catching a cold in the show's opening scene allows Scorpion to not only get Sylvester off the bench (where he's spent too much of the season offering tech support from headquarters) but also provide a B-story that ends with a touching moment from Happy (Jadyn Wong).
