Green Lantern #52

Hal Jordan's New 52 adventures come to a close with a battle between the last remaining Green Lantern and the Gray Agents attempting to make a name for themselves by taking the space cop down. Robert Venditti and his team write and end for the version of Hal Jordan that wraps up some, but certainly not all, of the loose strings surrounding the renegade Green Lantern's recent adventures. The Corps is still gone and we are no closer to understanding just what Hal Jordan is becoming.

As we've seen in recent months, the final issue of the series continues to tease Hal loosing himself to the power of the gauntlet and becoming less human. With Jordan apparently returning to costume and ring in the new series Hal Jordan & the Green Lantern Corps as part of DC Comics' Rebirth reboot, you have to wonder what (if any) of this storyline will be kept.

One of DC's major struggles with the New 52 was how unprepared they with decisions about what was canon for its characters. These inconsistencies led to lots of growing pains throughout the New 52 run. Hopefully the company has a little better idea where it wants to go with Rebirth. For fans.

[DC, $3.99]
