Wonder Woman: Rebirth #1

Still in the early days of DC Rebirth, DC Comics' latest reboot which hopes to combine previous DC continuity with that of the New 52 into a new DCU, it's obvious some characters are more aware of what is happening than others. Diana of Themyscira is aware of both her classic and (shitty) New 52 origins at the same time, using her Magic Lasso in an attempt to find out what is real she discovers she has been deceived. Have I mentioned yet how much I love the idea that the entirety of the New 52 was a super-villain plot to make DC suck?

Shedding her New 52 costume in favor of something a little more old school, Wonder Woman sets out to find out who is responsible for her confusion and what she can do about it. I'm not sure exactly where Diana's journey will take her, but the decision to make Wonder Woman one of the core DC heroes who acknowledges something is off in the world is an intriguing one. I'm certainly on-board with Greg Rucka penning the Amazon's adventures but I am curious to see which of the artists used here is chosen to stay in the long run. Worth a look.

[DC, $2.99]
