Nights #16
Life continues for our odd trio on the island of Thule. While Erik earnestly takes to learning magic, Gray becomes the island's new night watch, and Agent Tsukumari continues to learn and document events on the island and its peculiarities, casting letters to his superiors to the ocean in bottles wondering if anyone will ever find them.
During his training with Isaac, Erik discovers a rather ominous giant door which Isaac says holds their new home. However, Erik senses something dangerous about it and overhears something, or someone, laughing at the young witch from the other side.
While the comic continues to foreshadow what's to come, the issue does give us Gray saving Tsukumari and a young boy from a sea creature and afterwards sharing a moment of understanding, a romantic respite for Erik and Gray (with a little magical boost), and something far darker for Tsukumari as the agent's past may have finally caught up with him.
