Will Trent - ...Speaking of Sharks

After last season ended with several core characters in the hospital, the Fourth Season premiere of Will Trent jumps forward five months. Ormewood (Jake McLaughlin) is back at work, although saddled to a new desk assignment, but Amanda (Sonja Sohn) is still recovering from her shooting leaving a temporary replacement in charge who Will (Ramón Rodríguez) will butt heads with while ignoring orders to stay out of the investigation into James Ulster (Greg Germann) escape from prison.

Will's relationships, and who he considers family, is key to the episode as a now very pregnant Angie (Erika Christensen) gets engaged and Will does his best to try and connect with Caleb's (Yul Vazquez) family all while tracking down the deranged serial killer is responsible for the course of Will's life. The episode offers a surprise ending, with Will trading himself for a young boy only to end up apparently dead with Ulster (but, seeing how its the season premiere, we know there's little chance our title character is actually dead suggesting Ulster has Will somewhere albeit likely only for another week or two).

The premiere brings back the with and fun (such as the discovery of the escaped convict's multiple fiancés) and dramatic layers (as in Will's struggle with his anger issues not helped by Ulster's escape) the show is known for. It looks like Will, and the others, will have plenty to work through over the course of the season beginning with his return from the grave.
