Agatha Christie's Seven Dials

Breaking up the Agatha Christie novel into a three-episode series, Agatha Christie's Seven Dials casts Mia McKenna-Bruce as Lady Eileen Brent, Bundle to her friends, who takes it upon herself to solve a murder others are all too willing to sweep under the rug. Over the course of her investigation, Bundle will uncover a plot to steal a formula to strengthen metal and the existence of a secret society both of which appear linked to the sudden death of Bundle's friend.

With McKenna-Bruce being the best thing about the series, we also get Martin Freeman as Superintendent Battle who believes more of Bundle's theories than he lets on but is always cautioning her not to stick her nose into the dangerous events afoot. The rest of the cast, other than perhaps Helena Bonham Carter as Bundle's mother, isn't all that notable as they are merely pieces on a chess board to be moved at the right time allowing the truth of the murders to be seen (although, if you've been paying attention, you'll likely see a number of the twists coming).

The series opens with a sequence in Spain that is disconnected from all other the events other than its epilogue in which we see the possible promise of a mystery series for Netflix (even if Agathe Christie, after introducing the character in The Secret of Chimneys, never wrote further novels featuring the character after this one). If the rights of the character are available, I would be interested in seeing what might be done with original Christie-style mysteries featuring Bundle and the Seven Dials (especially if McKenna-Bruce and Freeman both return).
