Murder, She Wrote - Paint Me a Murder
Murder Mystery Monday takes us back to the most famous mystery writer of Cabot Cove. In an episode that has a strong Agatha Christie flavor with a group of people trapped together on a private island, and one of them almost certainly the killer, Jessica Fletcher (Angela Lansbury) works to uncover the identity of the person who killed their host and friend, artist Diego Santana (Cesar Romero). Playing the role of Jessica's more official assistant is another of the guests, and also a suspect, Inspector Henry Kyle (Ron Moody).
The setting (which fans of Dynasty or Knight Rider are likely to recognize) works well as does the collection of suspects, all friends of the artist (including Capucine, Robert Goulet, Fernando Allende, and Steven Keats) but all with various motives for potentially wanting him dead, or being able to profit off of his death, providing plenty of red herrings before the true culprit (Stewart Granger) and motive is uncovered.
