Leverage - The Last Dam Job

In order to get the men who murdered his father (Tom Skerritt) Nate (Timothy Hutton) is going to need some help. Dubinech (Saul Rubinek) knows the team and their methods, after all he's the one who originally put them together. Now freed from jail his one responsibility is to keep Nate and his team away from Latimer (Leon Rippy). Not surprisingly, this turns out to be easier said than done.

We get a quartet of familiar faces as Wil WheatonRichard ChamberlainClayne Crawford, and Kari Matchett all return to reprise their roles from former episodes. Not content with just cameos the episode makes each of them intergral to the con. In an unexpected twist it  also gives the hackers, hitters, and thieves a chance to bond among themselves.

Nate's plan is simple: take down Latimer. He attacks his company, his prized possessions and his name (rubbing it Dubinech by stealing his plan). By the end of the episode the millionaire will find his company in shambles, a Congressional summons with his name on it, and wake up drugged with a few of his remaining most valuable possessions in the Cayman Islands in an attempt to make it appear as if he is fleeing the country to avoid prosecution.

Dubinech fairs no better in the end as he finds himself on top of the dam facing a gun held by the man whose father he had killed. The series does a good job of balancing the team's need to help Nate and their attempts to keep him from going too far. Although the end is a little too cute (even for this show) it allows Nate to get his revenge and keep his hands (relatively) clean.

The show is known for putting together some great season finales and this episode is terrific with several great individual moments, some fun bonding with the team and their new members, some trademark Leverage twists, Parker meeting her "sister," an unexpected tender moment between Elliot (Christian Kane) and Nate about the consequences of murder, Chamberlain electrocuting Wil Wheaton, and even a Batcave. Yeah, this episode even has a Batcave!
