Shadowhunters - Lost Souls

Shadowhunters returns with both Jace (Dominic Sherwood) and Simon (Alberto Rosende) separately struggling with the apparent loss of Clary (Katherine McNamara), meanwhile the not-so-dead Clary awakes to find herself the captive of Jonathan (Luke Baines) in his teleporting house. With each of Clary's beaus contemplating suicide while struggling to move on with out her, Clary herself learns just how connected she is to her reborn brother when attempting to commit fratricide. Setting up threads for multiple characters, the show's return works in new struggles for Clary while lining up separate quests for her friends.

"Lost Souls" confirms that Jonathan isn't going away any time soon. Although Jace may believe Clary is gone, Luke's (Isaiah Mustafa) insistent push may be just what the Shadowhunter needs to begin his search. The news that the Clave has posthumously dropped all charges against Clary also opens the door to her return as a Shadowhunter. Meanwhile, brother and sister have their own problems as Alec (Matthew Daddario) works to help Magnus (Harry Shum Jr.) move on without his powers and Isabelle (Emeraude Toubia) uncovers a troubling secret concerning the Clave's treatment of its prisoners. While Magnus proves resourceful enough to fight off Iris (Stephanie Belding) long enough for rescue to come, both he and Isabelle look to have larger arcs to delve into as one searches for purpose and the other answers. As for Simon, he's got a quest of his own to complete involving his mystery symbol and a legendary vampire somewhere in the sewers of New York, and if Maia (Alisha Wainwright) isn't up for the challenge, Isabelle is ready to step-in. Way to trade up, Simon.
