Arrow - The Huntress Returns

It's a week of returns as not only does Oliver's (Stephen Amell) ex-lover and former crime fighting partner the Huntress (Jessica De Gouw) make her way back to Starling City leaving a trail of bodies while looking for her father (Jeffrey Nordling) before he disappears forever into Witness Protection, but Laurel (Katie Cassidy) and her father (Paul Blackthorne) deal with the shocking return of her mother Dinah (Alex Kingston) who believes Laurel's sister Sarah (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) may still be alive, and Roy Harper (Colton Haynes) makes his second appearance on the show after being offered a job as a valet at Oliver's club by Thea (Willa Holland).

Needing Green Arrow's help to get to her father, Helena begins using what Ollie taught her by applying leverage and threatening the lives of his friends and family - beginning with Tommy (Colin Donnell). Unable to stop her or turn her over to the police and risk getting exposed as Starling City's vigilante, and and unwilling to kill her, Oliver agrees hoping his involvement will at least limit the collateral damage of Helena's rage. But when Helena falls into a police trap Oliver's world gets infinitely more complicated as his ex puts his secret and his relationship with McKenna (Janina Gavankar) in danger, forcing the archer to break her out of the police station and order her out of his city.

Rather than leaving town, Helena kidnaps Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) to find the FBI safe house leading to showdown between the archers and the end of Oliver and McKenna's relationship as the wounded officer decides to move to Coast City for her extensive rehabilitation. "The Huntress Returns" also includes flashbacks to the island involving Ollie and Slade Wilson's (Manu Bennett) attempts to neutralize Fryers’ (Sebastian Dunn) new missile launchers first to stop the man from staring a war and later as leverage to get the pair off the island.

Helena's return doesn't wrap-up her story as several thread are left dangling (include Oliver's attempt to kill her), but the damage she causes will effect Oliver's life for the remainder of the season. As to the mystery about Sarah possibly being alive, we don't learn anything more than Dinah's suspicions as it looks like this story is only beginning.  And Roy's heroic save of Thea, his hatred of needles, and their shared kiss, seems to foreshadow more for Green Arrow's comic sidekick later down the line.
