The Lying Game - To Lie For

In the finale of the show's shortened Second Season, the discovery of Theresa's (Yara Martinez) body in the Mercer's pool sends Dan (Tyler Christopher) even further over the edge which forces Alec (Adrian Pasdar) to reveal part of the twins' secret. Realizing his little brother has been lying to him for months, Dan gives Ethan (Blair Redford) an ultimatum to choose either his family or the twins. In the wake of the murder Thayer (Christian Alexander) confronts Emma (Alexandra Chando) about her unresolved feelings for Ethan and offers her an ultimatum of his own, but given Ethan's decision, and his brother'srecent tragedy, Emma's choice of Ethan over Thayer comes far too late.

Emma has her first honest conversation with Rebecca (Charisma Carpenter) about her giving up the twins and Emma's childhood in foster care. As the evidence continues to mount against Rebecca, including the discovery of the second locket at the quarry where Theresa was killed, Rebecca prepares to hit the road still claiming her innocence and blackmails Jordan (Ryan Rottman) to come with her. However, just as he's about to leave she puts the final piece of the puzzle together and discovers who Alec has been protecting this entire time. Jordan (Ryan Rottman) also returns only for Mads (Alice Greczyn) to see him arrested for the unsolved murder of his brother.

Worried about the emotional fallout, Sutton does her best to convince Ted (Andy Buckley) to delay dropping the bombshell of the twins on Kristin (Helen Slater). Out voted by both Ted and Emma, who are sick of the lies, the threesome agree to come clean after the benefit in Theresa's honor. However, an unexpected tragedy keeps the twins secret hidden for at least another day. Although the secret may be safe, the show's Spring finale ends with Derek and Theresa's murderer revealed (at least to the audience) which will will have serious repercussions if the show returns for a Third Season. The finale might not have the emotional impact of last week’s episode, but it packs plenty of surprises and a touching sisterly moment between the twins. Here’s hoping the show has done enough to earn it’s return for another season.
