As the students of fight over who can turn their grief into the largest spectacle and earn the most social media likes following the news that Principal Weston (Colton Dunn) has died, Dale (Skyler Gisondo) discovers Weston faked his own death and is living in the bowels of the school. Weston blackmailing Dale to keep his secret, however, nearly gets the principal killed for real.
The episode features plenty of wacky over-the-top hijinks including Cody (Ben Schwartz) and his group going all Ghostbusters, Benny (Peter S. Kim) and Truman (Jaboukie Young-White) going all-out for a funeral that ends in disaster when Weston breaks through the coffin, and Derica (Kiersey Clemons) connecting emotionally with Melody (Camila Mendes) as an anonymous grief counselor but being unable to hold onto that connection after revealing her identity and the sudden return of Principal Weston. Poor Derica. And poor Dale who takes as much backlash from the angry mob as Weston.
