Mayhem in the Multiverse

Teen Titans Go! & DC Super Hero Girls: Mayhem in the Multiverse is a crossover, of sorts, between the two DC animated properties. Really a Super Hero Girls adventure with limited appearances by the Titans, the plot revolves around Lex Luthor (Will Friedle) acquiring a Kryptonian amulet able to send heroes to the Phantom Zone. Organizing a Legion of Doom, Lex and the other villains start trapping the heroes not realizing that they are playing into a trapped Kryptonian's plans all along.

The Titans are largely used for comic relief, appearing outside the story for most of the adventure. The only time the two hero groups interact is when the Super Hero Girls find themselves on the Titans' Earth while searching for the Phantom Zone. Mostly the interactions between the group highlight how weird the Titans are, but Raven's (Tara Strong) discussions with Zatanna (Kari Wahlgren) do play into the larger plot of the story as the pair bond over fears of darkness within them. The TV-movie's big joke comes at the end of the episode where the Titans are also observed by a hero team from another world (who I wish had been give a much larger role).

There a plenty of nods to the Legion of Doom storylines from the Super-Friends, my favorite being the ridiculously cute version of the Toyman we get here. Takeaways from "Mayhem in the Multiverse" include the fact that Supergirl (Nicole Sullivan) is a least as powerful as Superman (Max Mittelman), Harley Quinn (Strong) finally leaves her villain days behind her and chooses to help Batgirl (Strong), the Justice League on the Super Hero Girls turns out to be far less effective than a group of kids, and despite outward appearances that suggest she'd be a perfect fit Starfire (Hynden Walch) struggles as much as her other teammates in interacting with the Super Hero Girls.
