Cold Slither #1

Presented as something akin to VH1's Beyond the Music, the new Cold Slither one-shot examines the history of the band Cold Slither (as introduced in the G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero TV episode of the same name) in which Zartan and the Dreadnoks become the front men for a band with hidden subliminal messages within the music. We then learn that years later that same music hit streaming and spread like wildfire giving Cobra control of the world. But what of the band?

Catching up with each of the Dreadnoks, and then finally Zartan, who have all moved on to separate lives, our intrepid reporter reunites the band for a single online performance which, of course, is where the twist comes in (although ultimately it doesn't matter as much to the band as to Cobra). The comic is an unapologetic love letter by writer Tim Seeley to the original G.I. JOE cartoon, and that episode in particular which hooked so many fans. It's as completely unexpected as it is awesome.
