Only Murders in the Building - Flatbush
In an episode that offers the return of Loretta (Meryl Streep), who returns under sad circumstances of her apartment burning down, the investigation turns towards the widows of the two murder victims when Oliver (Martin Short), Charles (Steve Martin), and Mabel (Selena Gomez) discover a potentially suspicious link between the pair. Loretta and Oliver's doesn't turn up a killer, but their little undercover mission does allow Oliver to share a bit of his childhood with Loretta and reconsider the possibility of leaving the Arconia. While Mabel is disheartened by the news, she does gets a chance to mend fences with Althea (Beanie Feldstein) putting past misunderstandings to rest.
While investigating the missing finger, and getting less story than his cohorts, Charles is responsible for the episode's big clue. Having been outplayed by the billionaires earlier in the season, and now prevented from presenting any of them as suspects on the podcast, Mabel discovers Charles' latest online flirtation is Bash Steed (Christoph Waltz) catfishing him to get updates on the case. This discovery will not only tie back to the tech billionaire but also his company which just happens to also supply the security cameras for the Arconia whose footage on the night Lester (Teddy Coluca) died has obviously been edited. Not surprisingly, it seems the investigation is swinging back towards the billionaires who obviously know more about that night than they are letting on.
