He-Man & She-Ra: The Ultimate Collection
He-Man & She-Ra: The Ultimate Collection collects all 130 episodes of both series, the 1985 film He-Man and She-Ra: The Secret of the Sword which introduced He-Man's twin sister, and He-Man & She-Ra: A Christmas Special. The multi-disc set also includes features on He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, She-Ra: Princess of Power, and Filmation animation.
He-Man and the Masters of the Universe followed the adventures of Prince Adam (John Erwin) who held aloft the Sword of Power and became He-Man, defender of Eternia, protecting his world from Skeletor (Alan Oppenheimer) and his various plots. Set on a different planet, the Sword of Protection comes to Adora (Melendy Britt) who protects Etheria from a not all that dissimilar threat of Hordak and the Evil Horde as She-Ra. Both shows featured a wide assortment of characters who you could also find on toy shelves.
The afternoon cartoons may have been little more than commercials to help sell Mattel's toy line, but there's undeniably some nostalgic fun to go back and revisit them. Some episodes have aged better than others, and there's nothing of any significance about this set in particular, but there's likely enough here for fans who haven't already picked up the episodes in one form or another over the years.
