Giant Robot Hellboy Returns #1
Something odd is going on in the ocean's depth where we reconnect with the crazed cabal of scientists who once connected Hellboy to a giant robot version of himself. In search of a hole in the interdimensional fabric of time caused by the same unstable experiments that created the robot, the scientists find their creation (and also more than they bargained for).
The first-half of a two-part story, we don't get the real Hellboy in this issue but we do get his robotic counterpart (who seems to have kept at least some remnant of his consciousness) battling a monster on the ocean floor before the scientists get sucked into the portal and our giant robot friend stars as the portal wondering what to do next? Intriguing, but mostly a tease which needs a pretty strong payoff to ultimately be worth your time.
