The Last Starfighter #1

Set in the weeks following the events of the 1984 film, Mad Cave Studios' new series The Last Starfighter checks in on Alex Rogan living on Rylos with his girlfriend Maggie. As the comic opens, Alex and Grig are charged with rebuilding the Star League and Starfighter Command by finding new pilots to battle the Ko-Dan Armada and new threat of the Blackstars. As for Maggie, she gets a new role as well working alongside Centauri to bring in the new recruits.

While I'm a little mixed on the art by Willi Roberts which I don't think gets as close to the likeness of the original characters as I'd like, as a fan of the 80s film I'm interested to see where the comic will go. There's plenty of galaxy and universe left wide open from the 1984 film, and I'm interested to see Alex and Maggie in space (especially as it seems like a new threat is out to prevent any new Starfighter pilots from being found).
