Continuum - Second Thoughts

When a drug from her future begins showing up in 2013, Kiera (Rachel Nichols) thinks back to her sister Hannah's (Max Chadburn) addiction and enlists the help of Alec (Erik Knudsen) to get it off the streets before the highly addictive compound catches on to a world that's not ready for it. Despite Kiera's warnings of the dangers of "Flash," Alec decides to experiment with the drug's in an attempt to find answers about his father. Kiera and Carlos (Victor Webster) also have to deal with a gang war between the Coalition Kings and the Syndicate caused by Liber8's civil war between Sonya (Lexa Doig) and Travis (Roger R. Cross).

Kiera and Carlos are able to trace the drug back to Sonya who is making and distributing "Flash" to fund her war with Travis and Garza (Luvia Petersen). The pair are able to confiscate the lab and drugs, and kill several of Sonya's gang henchmen, but Sonya escapes and decides she needs to change her tactics if she's going to survive long enough to see Kagame's vision for the future come to pass. Meanwhile Travis makes inroads of his own by attempting to unite all the gangs under Liber8's control.

A solid episode that leaves Sonya and Travis each taking their version of Liber8 in different directions and Alec with several questions about Kiera's friend from the future and Jason's connection with Alec's past. The flashbacks to Kiera's sister also help explain her overprotective nature and why the cop from the future is willing to fight so hard to make sure she doesn't loose anyone else. Other stories include Kiera learning about Alec and Kellog's (Stephen Lobo) joint enterprise and Jason (Ian Tracey) informs Kiera that freelancers, itinerant time travelers from the future with undetermined objectives, have arrived in 2013 and may have a way to return the cop from the future back to her own time.
