Blindspot - In Night So Ransomed Rogue

After spending three months in a CIA black site tortured for information she couldn't possibly know or remember, Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander) escapes. Tracked down by a super-secret branch of the NSA, it's head (Archie Panjabi) enlists the help of Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) and his team to bring Jane in and put her back to work to take down the terrorist organization known as Sandstorm which is responsible for more than a dozen domestic terrorist attacks, wiping Jane's memory, and the murder of Mayfair (Marianne Jean-Baptiste). Sending her back in undercover, a wounded Jane runs into another hazily-remembered face (Luke Mitchell) from her past who leads her straight to Shepherd (Michelle Hurd), the allusive head of Sandstorm.

Moving away from the odd tattoo-designed wild goose chases, "In Night So Ransomed Rogue" not only introduces Jane to a woman claiming to have a deep connection to her past and a childhood friend as close as a brother, but also fills in some information about her past including her real name, the truth about her training and upbringing as a child soldier and government assassin in South Africa. Despite definitively choosing a side in last season's finale, after being betrayed by Weller and the United States Government (who threw her in a hole for three months) the season premiere finds a way to once again to plausibly split Jane's loyalties opening new questions about which side she may eventually choose while also foreshadowing a traitor within the FBI with the ability to destroy Jane's cover.
