Star Wars Rebels - The Complete Second Season

The Second Season of Star Wars Rebels finds the crew of the Ghost spending more time as full members of the Rebellion after being forced off of Lothal by the Empire. Teased over the course of the season, the two-part finale delivers the long-awaited reunion between Ahsoka Tano (Ashley Eckstein) and Darth Vader (James Earl Jones) along with an unexpected appearance by Maul (Sam Witwer) and the foreshadowing of Ezra's (Taylor Gray) possible turn to the Dark Side.

Other highlights of the season include Ezra, Kanan (Freddie Prinze Jr.), and Ezra returning to the Jedi Temple on Lothal, Ezra captured by the Empire, the introduction of Sabine's (Tiya Sircar) old friend and rival Ketsu Onyo (Gina Torres), Chopper's own episode, Ezra's search for his parents, Fifth Brother (Philip Anthony-Rodriguez) and Seventh Sister (Sarah Michelle Gellar) stealing Force-sensitive children, the introduction of the B-Wing, and an appearance by Princess Leia (Julie Dolan).

Other notable episodes include Ezra, Sabine, and Zeb (Steven Blum) hunted by Inquisitors, negotiations with the Mandalorians, the return of Hondo Ohnaka (Jim Cummings), and the introduction of Ahsoka's old war buddy Rex (Dee Bradley Baker).

Available on Blu-ray and DVD, extras include Rebel Recon webisodes for each episode, and featurettes on Ahsoka's arc and how events, places, and characters connect to the larger Star Wars universe. The content is great, the packaging (which requires you to stack discs on top of each other) leaves something to be desired.

[Walt Disney Studios, Blu-ray $45.99 / DVD $39.99]
