Hellboy in Love: Black Eyes

The Hellboy in Love: Black Eyes one-shot takes Hellboy to Coventry in 1979 to introduce Anastasia Bransfield to a pair of old friends in retired B.P.R.D. agents Archie and Margaret. While there, the young lovers will work through a tiff (grown more out of how others object to their relationship than any problems the pair have with each other) and help the older couple with a local ghost problem involving an apparition of a young girl strolling through the city streets at night crying out for its mother.

A fun little self-contained issue that continues to highlight Hellboy's romance with Anastasia. Hellboy introducing her to his old friends makes the relationship a bit more real while also offering some fun moments between both the guys and the gals. As for the ghost, its nice to see a story that, even when fighting what goes bump in the night, Hellboy can rely on compassion and understanding rather than brute force (which also fits the tone of the rest of the comic so well).
