Super Friends - The Weather Maker
Super Friends Saturday takes us back to the Hall of Justice and the adventures of the world’s greatest heroes created from the cosmic legends of the universe. In an episode that legitimately attempts to teach its young audience about how ocean currents and weather patterns work, the Super Friends investigate a number of odd weather occurrences around Florida.
Marvin (Frank Welker), Wendy (Sherry Alberoni), and Wonder Dog (Welker) are among the first to witness the phenomenon and go with Batman (Olan Soule), and Robin (Casey Kasem) to do some investigating while the other Super Friends stay busy dealing with the disasters the changing weather have created. While the entire episode is a bit goofy, I'll give the show credit with at least making an attempt to teach its young audience.
Our villain (Ted Knight) is a bit of a mad scientist but one with good intentions wanting to help out his own country rather than hurt anyone else (although he's not above doing so to achieve his end goal). In the end, a compromise is reached as, while attempting to shut down the scientist's machine, the Super Friends discover an alternate use for the invention providing just the sort of energy needed to meet his ultimate goal.
