Community - Course Listing Unavailable

Although Jeff (Joel McHale), who is far more concerned about having to make up a credit over the summer when a professor leaves Greendale unexpectedly, takes the news in stride the rest of the study group struggles to deal with the unexpected death of Star-Burns (Dino Stamatopoulos) whose final wish was for Abed (Danny Pudi) to create a video tribute of his life (which we see during the closing  credits). Britta (Gillian Jacobs) elects herself the group's grief counselor, with mixed results.

Chang (Ken Jeong) uses the riot Jeff, Britta, Annie (Alison Brie), Pierce (Chevy Chase), Shirley (Yvette Nicole Brown), Troy (Donald Glover) and Abed cause at Star-Burns memorial as an excuse to seize power from Dean Pelton (Jim Rash). Chang even goes so far as to replace the dean with a lookalike when Pelton tries to pin the riot on him. The end result finds the "Greendale Seven" brought before the school board only to find themselves all expelled, which they're oddly okay with as the episode comes to a close.

Although the episode doesn't include a "to be continued" tag at the end there's obviously quite a lot that has to be addressed in next week's episode. The episode opens up an interesting arc as the group will have to fight to get back into the school they were just denouncing so vehemently it caused the other students to riot. It may not be as strong as the last couple episodes of the series but it turns out to be a fitting farewell to Star-Burns.
