#Single
Sree Vishnu stars as Vijay, a confirmed bachelor who ends up in an unusual romantic triangle attempting to woo a woman (Ketika Sharma) who has no interest in him while pushing away the attempts of an equally attractive young woman (Ivana) to woo him. Vijay is constantly pulling his best friend Aravind (Vennela Kishore) into his shenanigans.
The story works out something like this, Vijay attempts to woo Purva (Sharma) by using the lie of buying a car from her in an attempt to spend time and get to know her. They younger Harini (Ivana) does much the same with teasing buying a policy from Vijay's bank while attempting to get him to fall for her. Truth is largely the enemy here for Vijay, as is his inability to see how his treatment of one woman is mirrored in how the other treats him.
A romantic farce with some big (albeit mostly forgettable) musical numbers thrown in, the Telugu-language film may a bit too long, and a bit too convoluted (even for a romantic comedy), but there are still laughs to be had for what feels very much like a throwaway B-movie. Vijay does show some growth as a character, but despite some individual moments of kindness he's far from the catch he believes himself to be.
As for Aravind, when he's not commenting on how he doesn't wish to be Vijay's sidekick and pulled into his shenanigans (and he's got plenty of his own which will be revealed late in the film) that's exactly the role he's thrust into despite how his best friend is constantly mocking Aravind's own romantic relationship and sabotaging it in both subtle and unsubtle ways (again, mostly through some version of the truth). It might just be true that Vijay, and even Aravind, deserve to be #Single.
