Watson - My Life's Work

While the show has been renewed for a Second Season, the two-part finale does wrap up several threads from the season and suggest at least one cast member won't be back at the Holmes Clinic next year. Things start off with Adams (Peter Mark Kendall) being poisoned by Moriarty (Randall Park) using a customized virus which also eventually infects his twin brother Stephens as well. Not realizing how it ties into his plans, Ingrid (Eve Harlow) destroys some genetic samples which could have been used to save the twins, although the good doctor scrapes enough together to save one of them.

Before the season end all cards will be on the table with both Ingrid and Shinwell (Ritchie Coster) both confessing their sins but also both stepping up to make good with Shinwell finding the right lever to bend Moriarty’s minion (Kacey Rohl) to their side and Ingrid dosing the master criminal with a dose of customized disease of Watson's own making forcing the criminal to relinquish medical supplies which are used to save Stephens. We also get Sasha (Inga Schlingmann) admitting her feelings for Stephens setting up an office romance when the show returns.

The big talking point of the season comes with Watson's decision to not only medically screw with Moriarty's health, causing a life-threatening illness, but ultimately choose to let him die from medical complications which Watson's virus caused. Mary (Rochelle Aytes) backs the good doctor's murder tying off the storyline without delving into the reasons for any of his actions (although there is always the opportunity for the show to try for a twist, although I don't think that would be in anyone's interest at this point). Let Moriarty go, and, if needed, explore the guilt Watson and/or Mary have, but otherwise allow the show to move on sticking more closely with the cases of the week (and perhaps Watson helping out the police now and again).
