Star Wars #1

A new Star Wars comic begins here. Set some time after the events of The Return of the Jedi, in the early days of the New Republic, Star Wars #1 opens with a squad of X-Wings led by Luke Skywalker hunting down pirates who have been harassing ships in nearby sectors. On finding them, the X-Wing pilots are shocked to discover the group has a Star Destroyer forcing a hasty retreat. However, one of Luke's squad instead heads to the planet to get a look at the mercenary shot down in the battle (who had previously shot down one of the X-Wings), and Luke follows.

The issue kicks off the new series, but it's mostly set up. We get a bit of space battling and foreshadowing with Luke feeling something dark on the planet (which, by itself, isn't the strongest hook to try and pull back readers for the next issue). Like much of recent Star Wars output, it's fine but nothing you can't miss.
