Nobody 2
Bringing back the core cast from the 2021 film, Nobody 2 takes the Mansell family on vacation as Hutch (Bob Odenkirk) attempts to recreate a vacation from his childhood for his kids (Paisley Cadorath and Gage Munroe). However, it doesn't take long for the family to get into trouble and for Hutch's attempt to deescalate the situation to do quite the opposite as the small town known for its water park is actually a town run by a ruthless gangster (a too-far over-the-top Sharon Stone) and a shitkicker sheriff (a completely miscast Colin Hanks).
Very much a sequel, the film doesn't need anywhere near the setup of the original getting to action fairly quickly (first in an accounting of Hutch's latest mission and then in the first spot of trouble they run into in an arcade). The themes of the family struggling to stay together are still here as Hutch attempts to work off the debts incurred in the first film and stay connected to his children and wife (Connie Nielsen). Both Christopher Lloyd and RZA return, but for a film about a family vacation they feel like afterthoughts.
As with the first film, Nobody 2 lives or dies on the back of Odenkirk who is obviously enjoying himself in the role. I'm not sure if it's better or worse than the original, but it certainly raises the explosions and body count as you would expect from a sequel with plenty of callbacks to the first film. It also builds a on the family drama with both parents worrying if their son will turn out like his father. Nobody 2 is the kind of ridiculous action flick that's going to appeal to a certain demographic, and for that audience I think there's fun to be had.
