Transformers #24

Issue #24, which wraps up the 24-issue run by the creative team of Daniel Warren Johnson and Jorge Corona opens with a battle between Optimus Prime and Megatron which Prime loses. However, before all is said and done the Autobots will survive thanks to the sudden appearance of Omega Supreme, a crisis of concious for Starscream, the arrival of Shredhead on Earth, and a final parting shot from Prime to Megatron sending the Decepticons in retreat just moments after it appeared they had won.

There are some strong Transformers: The Movie vibes here, with Johnson pulling dialogue straight out of Prime and Megatron's battle. Thankfully, Prime doesn't die here. In fact, the Autobots (who have spent most of this run barely scraping by) end on a hopeful note. Megaton and the Decepticons have been pushed back, the Matrix has a bit of Spark, and Optimus has succeed in his goal to help protect Earth from the Decepticons... at least for now.
