Chuck Versus the Cliffhanger

The season finale of Season Four is unexpected, in more ways than one. Chuck (Zachary Levi) encounters more trouble than he bargained for in attempting to save Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) from the effects of the Norseman which are slowly killing her. To save her life he's going to have to risk everything, and, in true Bartowski fashion, he does.

Before long Chuck, his mother (Linda Hamilton), and Casey (Adam Baldwin) find themselves on the outs of the CIA, using stolen government property to break Alexei Volkoff (Timothy Dalton) out of prison, and targeted by a cleaner (Michael Duisenberg) who is tasked to stop their plans.

When the end comes, after a few unforeseen twists, it won't come with the Intersect piling up a body count, but with Chuck Bartowksi, completely alone, making a plea for the woman he loves. Of course we also get one or two more surprises, some very touching moments between Chuck and Sarah, a wedding, and one final shocker which leaves the possibilities for Season Five wide open.

All in all a very strong finale, well-paced and full of tension - even if it went down different paths than I originally thought it would. And we got to see Chuck's version of Street Hawk! I'm glad Chuck is coming back for one more season and we'll see how the team deals with their new circumstances as... well, I don't want to spoil all the fun.
