G.I. JOE #8
Following a bit of training within the Pit, the Baroness demands a bit of R&R and some time away from the repetitive drills. Duke, reluctantly agrees on the condition she's back in 48 hours and that Cover Girl, goes with her. The issue allows for the pair to spend some time together, first on the Baroness' private jet and later on a cafe in Paris (between which she unsuccessfully attempts to lose the Joe for some time alone). There's not much action in the issue, but its memorable with the Joes hunting the Baroness at the beginning of the issue (which plays on the reader's expectation that the woman will, at some point, go bad), and the two women being attacked by a flock of birds which reintroduces the character of Raptor into the Energon Universe.
What you are really paying for her is the issue exploring the Cover Girl/Baroness dynamic which it does quite well in the limited number of pages available. Other notable pieces to the issue include Cobra Commander sharing some info with Destro about the Transformers, although not too much, and Clutch sneaking his new pal Hound into the Pit, laying the foundation for another big reveal in the near future.
