New Avengers #1

While not being all that sure about the current state of the Marvel Universe, although it seems that Doctor Doom has become a major player again just in time to lead into some cross-promotional movie tie-ins, we start with Black Widow recruiting the experimental laboratory in the Kamchatka Peninsula in Russia. And for added backup, Bucky enlisted the help of the less-hairy Wolverine and his old war buddy Namor. For a guy who says he hates teams, Bucky sure knows how to assemble deadly ones.

Running by the seat of their pants without any of the traditional big names, New Avengers #1 leads the group into the lab which they discover is being run by the Jackal. They also run into a few of his experiments who are various spliced together Marvel heroes that don't exactly look fully baked yet but still present problems for the group. Although there are some interesting pieces here, I don't think there's enough to bring me back for seconds.
