Transformers #21
Transformers #21 is a rough issue for the Autobots. Those on Cybertron find their plan to get to Earth stymied by an unforeseen complication meaning only one of the can return to Earth, Ultra Magnus gets tortured at the hands of the American soldiers, and most notably the Decepticons attack the Ark laying a path of destruction in their wake. Hampering the Autobots' ability to fight back is Optimus Prime himself, whose makeshift limb appears to be infecting him and has a mind of its own now that its true owner has arrived to collect it.
By the end of the issue, the status quo of the Autobots is even bleaker. Many of the surviving Autobots manage to retreat, including their now one-armed leader, but one of the Aerialbots is lost and Megatron recollects what he was missing finally becoming fully whole for the first time in the series. Despite the infighting we still see in the issue between Bruticus and Devastator, the Deceptions have never been stronger painting a bleak picture for the Autobots.
