The Librarians and the Happily Ever Afters

Setting up next week's season finale, Flynn (Noah Wyle) returns to the Library after collecting the last of the missing artifacts only to find things amiss. Not only are Eve (Rebecca Romijn) and the rest of the Librarians missing in action but Jenkins (John Larroquette) has no memory of any member of the group.

Following the clippings book to a small town, Flynn finds Eve, Jake (Christian Kane), Cassandra (Lindy Booth), and Ezekiel (John Harlan Kim) all living different lives with no memory of him or their time in the Library. While Eve is the town's overqualified sheriff, and dating Moriarty (David S. Lee), each member of the team is living out an unlikely life based on their own deepest desires (professor, astronaut, FBI agent).

Some of the alternate stories work better than others. While Eve's plays on groundwork laid earlier in the season, the show doesn't quite know how to give Jake a different life other than allow him to do more of the same (which is what happens to Flynn when he falls under the spell at the end of the episode as well). I don't know if I buy Ezekiel wanting to be an FBI agent, but his version of one is definitely entertaining. Eventually Flynn is able to catch Ariel (Hayley McLaughlin) who is responsible for the spell (used to keep the entire group out of Prospero's way) and return things to normal.
