Leverage - The Queen's Gambit Job

The mid-season finale gives us a trip to Dubai, a chess tournament, a young prodigy (Ayla Kell), terrorists, a double-cross, and the return of Nate's (Timothy Hutton) former co-worker and the team's nemesis. Sterling (Mark Sheppard) comes to Nate for help in keeping a nuclear reactor component out of the hands of some very dangerous people.

The team is in fine form in this last episode before the show returns in November. Some of the highlights include Parker (Beth Riesgraf) and Hardison (Aldis Hodge) dancing, Sophie's (Gina Bellman) help in Nate's many rounds of chess, Parker's escape from the roof of the tower, and Elliot (Christian Kane) and Sterling forced into working together.

It's great to see Mark Sheppard back on the show, and the episode gives us the same old Sterling but with a slightly different slant to his character. It wouldn't be a Leverage episode without a twist as the team must think on their feet when Sterling turns the table on his cohorts to retrieve what he's really after.

The show ends on a high note with Sheppard's guest-appearance (and it appears several other familiar faces like Jeri RyanTom SkerrittRichard Chamberlain and Wil Wheaton, will be returning this Fall as well). The show knows how to go out in style, and if the second-half of Season Four is as good as the first it should be one hell of a Fall.
