Prodigal Son - Exit Strategy

The Second Season of Prodigal Son has led up to this. While the case of the week involves the NYPD investigating a murder where the only witness is an agoraphobic former chess champion and peeping tom, the larger piece of the story involves the Surgeon's (Michael Sheen) escape plan going into action. Blissfully unaware of what his father has planned, and ignoring his calls, Malcom (Tom Payne) works to solve the latest crime and even gives thought to expressing his feelings for Dani (Aurora Perrineau) although the escape of his father may through a monkey wrench into those plans.

There's also fallout for several characters as the inevitable manhunt for the escaped serial killer begins. Visiting the Claremont Psychiatric Hospital during the lockdown and chaos, Jessica (Bellamy Young) is forced to defend herself from one of the other patients who is no fan of her ex-husband. Dr. Vivian Capshaw (Catherine Zeta-Jones) faces both personal and professional repercussions for unwittingly helping Martin's escape. Despite his feelings for the doctor, its obvious that the Surgeon has plans for the outside world that involve his family (and maybe a little murder?). His escape will also help shake-up the show a bit, at least in the short-term.
