X-Men '97 - Danger.exe
In an episode that features Professor X (Ross Marquand) struggling to deal with the death of Magneto, Polaris (Carolina Ravassa) takes center stage after her aggressions lead to her dismissal from X-Factor and her return to the mansion. Lorna arrives just in time to help her old friends, and the new young recruits, with an out-of-control Danger Room which has become sentient and adopts the form of Danger (Rachel Kimsey) to push the X-Men to their limits.
For a character forced to carry around a buttload of complicated and convoluted backstory, "Danger.exe" does a really good job of stripping Polaris down to her core, showcasing both her power and insecurities, and providing her as the salve and answer to Charles' questions about how to go on following Magneto's loss.
The fallout of the episode sees the creation of X-Corp standing tall in the ruins of Genosha, a rising animosity from X-Factor and the U.S. Government towards the X-Men, and, in the epilogue, we witness Apocalypse bringing back a familiar face from the grave.
