The Flash - Girls Night Out

"Girls Night Out" splits the cast into gender-specific groups for typical bachelor/bachelorette party episode, Flash-style. While Barry's (Grant Gustin) night is hijacked by Ralph Dinby (Hartley Sawyer), it's the ladies who get to lead the episode's main storyline which finally answers some questions about Caitlin's (Danielle Panabaker) missing months while also bulking up the roster this week with the inclusion of both Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) and guest-star Katee Sackhoff as the D-list villain Amunet Black. While mentioned briefly pre-party, and making an appearance in the show's epilogue, DeVoe (Neil Sandilands) continues to be a mystery to Team Flash.

While Sackhoff is obviously having fun, I'm a little disappointed that the show couldn't find her a better role than such a throwaway character (although her escape from the heroes at the end of the episode may suggest her return sometime later this season). While Barry's party is pretty cliche, the women do get to flex their muscles a bit in the other plot thread with even Cecile (Danielle Nicolet) getting into the action. Focusing more on what they have in common, it appears the show is moving to a more Hulk/Banner relationship for Caitlin and her frosty alter-ego. As for the awkward run-in between Joe (Jesse L. Martin) and her daughter (Riley Jade) at the strip club, the less said by everyone the better.
