Beyond - Two Zero One / Cheers, Bitch

Beyond returns for a Second Season with Holden (Burkely Duffield) attempting to live a normal life by taking a job in his father's factory and date Willa (Dilan Gwyn) - despite how her family used him and the nightmares that continue to plague him. It's nice to see Charlie (Eden Brolin) return, although it seems like her current path on digging up dirt for Yellow Jacket (Peter Kelamis) will be keeping her away from Holden for the time being. Instead we get Willa attending an awkward family dinner and still showing more chemistry with Holden's brother than her actual boyfriend.

The Willa/Holden relationship continues to be a major weakness of the show. Getting Holden wrapped into job issues may provide Willa with the opportunity to kick some ass and save him in a bar fight but it doesn't do much else. The subplot of the FBI asking Holden's parents to help look into Helping Hands, along with its not-so-subtle ties to Jeff's (Jeff Pierre) family are awkward in that any honest conversation between Holden and his friends and family would immediately help everyone make sense of the shadowy organization. The introduction of a new character (Tom Stevens) with ties to Holden's visions, and powers of his own, is an interesting development I am curious to see play out.
