"Death Falls" features a big battle between Team Flash and Deathstorm. Team Flash will come out on top, as an enhanced Frost (Danielle Panabaker) proves up to the task to fight off the evil shadow monster that preys on grief and has recently taken on the form of Ronnie Raymond (Robbie Amell). The episode is structure very much like a Halloween episode (odd for Spring, but whatever) with the evil Deathstorm torturing the various heroes to elicit grief in plans of making Frost's doppelganger his bride (do evil cloud monsters need brides?).
The episode's big surprise is that Frost, while successful in defeating Deathstorm, dies in the effort. The emotional impact of the loss is undercut given the multiple previous attempts that also had suggested the character being written off (such as being locked up in prison) only to return and that fact that the actor playing the role remains on the show in her original role. In the same way, the return of Eddie (Rick Cosnett) as one of the grief monsters would have more impact if we hadn't seen him so recently as well.
