G.I. JOE #13
G.I. JOE #13 kicks off a new arc that, despite being set in a shared universe with the Transformers, feels very much like a classic G.I. JOE story. Much like in the original G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero cartoon, Cobra Commander sends Cobra forces across the globe in search of resources for his plans (which in this case are Energon). No doubt we'll see plenty of action with Joes showing up in the various locations as well. As the Commander, who takes the most interesting location for himself, things are about to get interesting.
Also playing on a thread set up earlier in the new continuity, Destro takes advantage of the bad feelings between the Dreadnoks and the Commander to send Cobra's leader into a trap, using the chaos for his own ends. Also playing into events from earlier in the series, Duke is on the same trail of Energon, only to be forced into the unlikely role as Cobra Commander's protector from the oncoming mob of Dreadnoks out for revenge. And so the "Dreadnok War" begins.
