Only Murders in the Building - LESTR / The House Always...

The final two episodes of the season focus on Oliver (Martin Short), Charles (Steve Martin), and Mabel (Selena Gomez) solving not one murder but two and also saving their homes from being demolished to build New York City's first casino. With the help of the robot, the trio is able to learn Lester (Teddy Coluca) killed Nicky (Bobby Cannavale), whose finger was chopped off in the underground speakeasy, and who was responsible for Lester's death. The finale successfully wraps up the loose ends, and gets our trio out from under the thumbs of the billionaires, while also (as is the show's custom from the beginning) setting up next season's murder.

While the penultimate use of using LESTR to frame the story may not work as well as similar attempts in previous seasons (such as the deaf episode without any spoken dialogue) it does ultimately put our podcasters on to the proper path heading into the finale. Highlights of the end of the season include the different reactions of the Arconia residents to being kicked out of their homes, Mabel making a crucial deduction based off a text message, and taking a risk to test her theory, the return of multiple familiar faces, Charles using magic to help the group escape a death trap, and Howard (Michael Cyril Creighton) helping save the day (and finding love in an unexpected place).
